Sub40 is where UT Austin students post the rooms and apartments they need to sublet, and where renters find them. Every listing is tied to a verified UT host email, so the person on the other side of the listing is a Longhorn.
It covers the specific thing West Campus actually needs: a summer or a semester, not a twelve-month lease.
Listing and messaging stay free. When your place is taken and you mark it leased, Sub40 collects a $250 success fee from the host. That is the pilot price for this semester. Boost is a separate option that buys placement, not a lease. Rent and deposits pass between the two students and never through Sub40.

Verified UT hosts
Listing requires a UT email address, enforced on the server rather than in the browser. New listings sit in a review queue until someone approves them. Renters may join with any email.

Built for one campus
One school, so the site can speak in semesters and West Campus blocks instead of generic rental vocabulary. Listing and browsing are both free.
Why this exists
What we won't do matters as much as what we do: no charge to browse or list, no non-students, and no numbers that flatter the product. That argument has its own page.
